Looks like someone either needed some time away or just found the suitcase to be a nice nap spot...

Going through airport security can be a bit nerve-wracking.

Not necessarily because you have something to hide, but because there is always this hovering feeling you are doing something wrong.

Imagine the shock and horror this passenger experienced when he was told that there was a feline in his luggage.

A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer at the JFK Airport was shocked when he saw the outline of a cat on the X-ray image of a passenger's luggage.

"A @TSA officer was shocked to find an orange cat inside a checked bag at @JFKairport after it went through the X-ray unit," Farbstein wrote in a Twitter post on November 22." (Business Insider)

Farbstein shared that the passenger revealed that the cat belonged to someone else in their household.

And that the cat was safe and was safely returned home.

The incident caused the passenger to miss his flight to Orlando, but he managed to book a flight for the next day.

It seems finding animal stowaways isn't as uncommon as you would think.

"In 2021, a Southwest employee found a pet chihuahua inside a couple's suitcase at a Texas airport, Insider reported. The employee opened the suitcase and discovered the dog sleeping in one of the couple's cowboy boots." (Business Insider)

We guess pets enjoy a little getaway sometimes too...
