Carol Ofori dishes on meeting her ‘husband’ Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori
Updated | By El Broide
Carol Ofori reminisces on the hilarious moment she met her 'husband' Richard Ofori at King Shaka International Airport.
Ofori is a surname that isn’t too common here in South Africa but a rather popular one in Ghana. Listeners know that our very own Carol Ofori married her Ghanaian prince Greg back in 2014 but have always assumed that Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori was the Ghanaian husband she always talks about.
Carol reminisced on the moment she met the soccer player recently saying that shortly after she married Greg, people would send her messages on social media asking her to tell her ‘husband’ to play better or to tell her that he had a great game. A confused Carol did some research and discovered that there was a soccer player named Richard Ofori who, at the time, played for Maritzburg United.
Since then, many believed that Carol was married to the goalkeeper who, as luck would have it, is also from Ghana.

Over the years, Carol says that she kept getting messages from fans of the soccer player but she finally met the ‘other Ofori’ when she dropped off her friends at the airport recently and a bus parked her in.
As the doors to the bus opened, players of the Orlando Pirates soccer club poured out as they prepare for their flight back to Johannesburg after playing a game at Moses Mahhida Stadium.

As Richard Ofori walks off the bus, one of Carol’s friends calls out to the player and shouts “Richard Ofori, your wife is here!” Carol says that Richard walked over and she told him the story of why everyone assumes that he is her husband. Richard laughs and admits that someone had asked him if she was his wife at a hotel in Durban just days before.
