#BadMomsClub: “My kids blocked me on social media”
Updated | By El Broide
It's that time of
the week where Carol Ofori asks KZN to give the best and worst advice they have
to offer!
Social media has become incredibly popular amongst young adults and, often times, kids aren’t too thrilled to have their parents following them on platforms like Twitter, Instagram or TikTok.
According to Mirror, studies have shown that one in five kids have blocked a parent on social media and one in 10 have rejected a 'friend request'. The study adds that one in six teens have 'de-tagged' themselves from family photos online and even asked a parent not to 'like' their posts.

One mom from Eshowe has experienced this first hand as her three
kids won’t accept her friend requests on social media. So, she has reached out
to Carol and East Coast Radio listeners for some advice.
“Hey Bad Moms Club,
Is it normal for kids to block you on social media? I have three kids aged 13, 15 and 18 and none of them will accept me on Facebook or Instagram. I can’t even see their profiles of photos! They just say social media isn’t for moms and dads. Should I freak out or just accept until they are older?
