#AppreciationMonday: Dad achieves dream of becoming an advocate after 30 years
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Family man Thanigasalan Moodley decided he wanted to pursue his dream of becoming an advocate after 30 years.
We start off the week with showing appreciation, because as Denzel Washington said, start every day with saying "Thank You" in advance. Most successful people share that same sentiment, being grateful can bring such fulfilment and can bring you success. It's uncanny, but it's true.
When it comes to staying true to achieving your true purpose, or dream, we found someone who has represented that clearly. Thanigasalan Moodley, a 48-year-old father from Silverglen, Chatsworth, showed us that you are never too old to achieve your dreams.

After 30 years, he has made his dream a reality and became an advocate. He had a tough time as a child after his father was killed during a hijacking and he had to become the man of the house.
I had to take care of my mom and two younger sisters. After school, I helped my mother at our family business, a service station, in Silverglen.- Thanigasalan Moodley
He said that getting back into the mode of things with studying, managing a business, and community service projects, notwithstanding his family life, was taxing on him. But he attests that without his family, he wouldn't have been able to pass his bar exam at the end of last year.
This was for their faith in me and understanding when I was buried in law books and could not spend as much time with them as I should have.- Thanigasalan Moodley
In saying that, Thanigasalan Moodley has taught us that with perseverance, support, and dedication, not forgetting focus and saying thank you, we all can achieve what we put our minds to.
Thank you, Thanigasalan Moodley, for sharing this with us. And well done on your amazing achievement. After 30 years, you have achieved your greatest dream, we wish you all the best with your practice.
