The African Bull Rider: "It's something that pumps up your blood!"

Katlego Selolo is earning the reputation of the African Cowboy...
Meet the African bull rider! When we thought about this, we have to admit that we had this pegged as a traditionally American thing to do, no?
Reality is, it is right here on our doorstep, so let's choose to be wowed by this African cowboy!
Katlego Selolo, 21, told Times Live: “If it doesn’t give me blood-rush, it doesn’t interest me."
This young and ambitious man shares a passion for the cowboy culture. He was first introduced to the idea of rodeo by his dad, Peter Selolo, who works at the Baviaanspoort prison as a warden.
The sport of rodeo has been considered the most dangerous eight seconds in sport and the goal is to stay mounted on to the back of the bull whilst it jumps around.

He said that he has a lot of support from the community in practicing his passion. "Selolo spends his free time at his father's Invincible U-Turn ranch. Katlego cares for the horses, breaks in younger mares and helps maintain the ranch." (Times Live)
Being the adrenaline junkie that he is, he laughingly said that this sport is dangerous, you could break anything from your rib to any bone in your body. He spoke about taking deep breaths before usurping the bull and in it we saw a very valuable life lesson.
"The reason why I take deep breaths is to remain calm. Before initiating something new, I need to be calm. Because once you panic or you overthink that's when you doubt to do something. The aim is to keep calm so that you do well in whatever you are doing." Katlego Selolo. (YouTube)
He spoke about not having exposure for this sport in South Africa, so hopefully this could be the start of something new and different for many South Africans.
