Sunfoil Dolphins steal the show

Sunfoil Dolphins made a clean sweep at the CSA Awards held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.

Lance Klusener was named Coach of the Year, David Miller the RAM SLAMMER and Kyle Abbott both the Domestic Players’ Player of the Year (for the second year in a row) and SACA Most Valuable Player.

In addition, the Dolphins won the CSA Fair Play Award and Wilson Ngobese, head grounds curator at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead, was named CSA Grounds man of the Year.

Jesse Chellan, CEO of Sunfoil Dolphins, said: “I’m ecstatic for the recognition granted to the Sunfoil Dolphins team, players, coaches and groundstaff. Recognition like this does not just happen. The seeds that were sown a while ago are now bearing fruits. My special thanks to Lance Klusener, Morne van Wyk, Rivash Gobind, Christo Spies, Brett Edwards and the Sunfoil Dolphin team. I would also like to pay tribute to all office staff for supporting and growing the Sunfoil Dolphins brand”.

Jesse Chellan also paid tribute to the their sponsors - Willowton Group, Suncoast Casino, Mancosa, Hirsch’s, East Coast Radio and Canon for their continued support.

Our home grown talent is producing good results, which shows that Dolphins cricket is in a healthy state”, commented Faeez Jaffar, President of the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union.

Commenting on his achievement, Lance Klusener said: “I am grateful and humble for the recognition that I and the team have received. I would like to thank the Sunfoil Dolphins team, management and sponsors. Not forgetting my family who have been very supportive.”
