Steve Hansen: The Boks win over the All Blacks means nothing for Rugby World Cup

The games are far from over as our men in green and gold now have around 11 months to fine tune the machine that caused one of the biggest rugby upsets in terms of All Black defeats, to then almost pull off a second win.

Someone who agrees with this sentiment is none other than All Blacks Coach Steve Hansen, who has come out saying that this weekend's win means nothing at all as we look to next year's Rugby World Cup.

I could be putting my head out on a chopping block here when it comes to team selection and the criticism coach Erasmus receives when making certain changes.

But it is not rocket science that only coach Erasmus and his men know what goes on in their various training camps and session which can essentially make or break a side.

We have no idea on team dynamics and which players thrive when paired with each other. We simply assume and complain when it's not what we want.

We as the public will always have our key players “we” think should be in the side, but essentially you can pick your dream team, but if they don’t gel and come together as one unit, you will be setting yourself up for drama.

I am by no means saying there is drama in the Springbok camp but merely supporting various decisions made which despite receiving criticism have shown to be a success.

With a couple of months remaining till the global showpiece, we can only trust all is in order and the plan is coming together as expected.
