Sailing and snoek off Durban
Durban sailors will be racing early this Sunday. They will be tackling an unusual route in the Royal Natal Yacht Club Lighthouse-to-Lighthouse race.
The race starts off Durban at 9am. Both the start and finish line will be set off uShaka Beach. The race is to Umhlanga Lighthouse in the north and the Cooper Lighthouse in the south. So Durbanites keep your eyes peeled and good luck to all of our sailors taking part.
Ant, one of the Umhlanga lifeguards, reckons that snoek have been coming out in the Umhlanga area and a decent size grunter was reported off the lighthouse with ski-boat anglers mainly targeting bottom fish.
We are in for another cool day in Durban with temperatures ranging from 14–22 degrees. There will be clear skies this morning, but partly cloudy weather this evening. Light variable winds will swing to light ENE later. The sea conditions are going to be beautiful this morning, so try to check your local break for a quick wave before work.
The weather is expected to warm up over the course of the weekend and onshore winds are the order of the day. Have a good one!
