After his shock move to Egyptian giants Al Ahly last week, South Africa's most decorated manager Pitso Mosimane has appointed Cavin Jonhson as his assistant coach at Cairo's Red Devils.
In a statement released on Mosimane's official Twitter account Johnson is looking forward to taking up a job so far from his usual appointments.
"It is an honour to be joining one of the most successful coaches in South Africa to coach the most successful club in Africa," Jonhson said.
"I just want to thank coach Pitso for giving me this opportunity to work with this 'Club of the Century'."
Johnson has been an important part of coaching in South Africa for a number of years, having coached at AmaZulu, SuperSport United and Platinum Stars.
"It gives me pleasure to announce that Cavin Johnson has agreed to join me as assistant coach at Al Ahly," Mosimane said.
"This completes the technical team I bring with me to the Red Devils after fitness trainer Kebelo Rangoaga and performance analyst Musi Matlaba.
"Coach Cavin is an experienced and accomplished mentor who has played an integral part in the development of football in South African and beyond.
"He has what it takes to help us deliver on our mandate in this top league and beyond."
