Kloof runner sharp in the USA
Updated | By Andre Bloem
Kloof athlete, Tanith Maxwell, has ended tenth in the San Diego half-marathon.
The South African Olympic marathon runner clocked a time of one hour 16 minutes and 48 seconds. Maxwell was up against a top field in San Diego.
She won the Vienna half-marathon in April, but clocked a faster time in California.
"I am very pleased with the race, even though my position was not as good as Vienna," said Maxwell.
"I was initially concerned as I had a heavy cold while in London two weeks ago, so I wasn't sure how it would pan out, but this shows my speed is improving. It's great to race against such quality runners," Maxwell added.
