Jodi chasing Shongweni glory
Updated | By Andre Bloem
The Nissan Winter Classic is underway at the Durban Shongweni Club.
The equestrian event will run until Monday and the action will include top show jumping.
Jodi Pieters, a former pupil at St Mary's in Kloof, was a show jumping winner at the Nissan Winter Classic last year.
Pieters was national show jumping champion back in 2011.
The 25-year-old lives in Drummond and is very familiar with the Durban Shongweni Club.
"We are here almost every weekend and I consider Shongweni my home ground. It is nice to have this advantage and I hope it will work for me," Pieters said.
The Nissan Winter Classic runs from 13 to 17 June.
The event will also feature a vaulting display and will involve at least 545 horses.
You can watch the action from 08h00 to 16h30 daily.
There will be a tea garden, restaurant and supervised kids play area on site.
