Day 2 of swimming champs cancelled
Updated | By Diane
Day two of the SA National Swimming Championships has been cancelled due to murky water conditions at the Newton Park Swimming Pool in Port Elizabeth.
Officials have been working frantically to improve the clarity of the water after a pump-burst on Sunday - turned the pool green.
Officials hope hope the event will continue tomorrow.
The cancellation means tonight's finals, featuring the likes of Durban's Chad le Clos, will not take place.
SA Swimming coach Graham Hill says he was happy with performancesby Le Clos, Cameron van der Burgh and Roland Schoeman on the first day of competition yesterday.
He's confident they will make the qualifying times for the World Championships in Barcelona in July.
