AmaZulu hoping to break their Chiefs home hoodoo

Kaizer Chiefs come to Durban to face AmaZulu in the DSTV
Premiership as the home side hope to break a three-match home losing run to the
men from Soweto when they clash at Jonsson Kings Park tomorrow.
Chiefs have had the better of Benni McCarthy’s side in recent times however Usuthu went to the FNB Stadium and beat Chiefs in the second leg of the fixture last season after Chiefs won in Durban.
At the moment AmaZulu sit ahead of Chiefs on the table, however the six place gap is only worth a single point so Amakhosi will hope that a win will take them into the top half of the table.
Although the season is only five matches young, AmaZulu manager Benni McCarthy believes that all games are important going forward in the season.
“At this stage in the league every team is a big one and there are no more easy matches,” McCarthy said. “Every team shows their quality and calibre and the fantastic players that they have so you are always preparing for a big game.”
It doesn’t get much bigger than a clash with Kaizer Chiefs and that isn’t lost on the coach of AmaZulu.
“In the history of South African football Chiefs are a big game but I think that we prepare the same way for every single match.
“We try and focus on ourselves more and fix what we can fix and work on how we need to get back to our best.
“We do study and analyse the opposition but we don’t try and worry too much about them and just make sure we don’t play into their hands and to their strengths.”
Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter is yet to lose to AmaZulu in his role at Naturena having won all six of the league games scoring eighteen goals and only conceding two.
Kick-off at Jonsson Kings Park on Saturday is at 15:30.
