Underberg woman killed in Eastern Cape attack
The brother of an Underberg woman who was stabbed to death
at an Eastern Cape reserve yesterday says his sister and her husband were
attacked while they were asleep.
Her husband, Matthew worked as a dairy farmer in Underberg. He sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body and was rushed to hospital.

The couple's 2-year-old son was not hurt.Karen's brother, Ian Crouch has told Newswatch the family had booked in at the Hluleka Nature Reserve, north of Coffee Bay for the week.
Crouch says he immediately flew to the reserve when he heard what happened.
"Without a shadow of a doubt in mind, from what I have seen, the incident happened while Matt and Karen were sleeping in their bed. It was an upstairs bedroom and you could see clearly they were attacked in their bed, in their sleep," said Crouch.

"Karen was pregnant at the time.""It was just an absolute bloodbath in the cottage, it wasn't nice to see at all."
Crouch said he spoke to Matthew yesterday after receiving emergency surgery in Mthatha.
"He said there were two intruders in the room. He woke up when he was stabbed in the stomach. At the same time my sister was being stabbed as well," said Crouch.
Crouch says they are absolutely devastated. He said the couple's son is being cared for by family and is doing well at the moment.
"My folks are taking a lot of strain, and you can imagine for Matt's parents who drove all the way to Mthatha and then drove back yesterday to follow him after the helicopter picked him up, it is just a matter of processing what has actually happened."
"Everyone is really upset and taking a lot of strain," he said.

Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of murder and assault.Officers say there were no signs of forced entry into the chalet and nothing appears to have been stolen.
