Tributes pour in for late KZN struggle stalwart
Updated | By Andrew Robertson
Tributes are pouring in for ANC KZN struggle stalwart Dr Meshack Radebe.
The former KZN Legislature Deputy Speaker died in the early hours of the morning yesterday, following a short illness. He was 71-years-old. The former MEC served in various roles in local government and the ANC.
He’s most noted for his community activism in underprivileged areas.
Radebe played a crucial role in resolving the conflict between the ANC and IFP in Hammarsdale. Legislature speaker and former colleague, Nontembeko Boyce says Radebe was committed to uplifting communities.
"He was a dedicated public representative who always wanted to go beyond the call of duty and ensuring that the people of KZN are serviced", she said.
"He would offer advice but also listen to you and your approach of wanting to do things. He was so generous - both with his time and with what he had", Boyce said.
