KwaZulu-Natal police have made a breakthrough and arrested three men in connection with the murder of an elderly woman who was found with her throat slit in her Phoenix home north of Durban last month.

According to Hawks spokesperson Robert Netshiunda, the victim was killed after she reported the suspects' alleged multi-million rand scam to defraud SARS to the police.
Netshiunda says the men who were taken into custody last night are well-known drug dealers in the area.
"They will be appearing before the Magistrate's Court on Monday for charges of murder.
"We also found a firearm and heroin in their possession together with multiple bank cards. What we all know is that two of the suspects are an uncle and his nephew," he said.
