Taxis say they can fill void left by Greyhound’s departure
The taxi industry is hoping to capitalise on the gap left by two major long-distance bus companies.
Yesterday marked the end of the road for Greyhound and Citiliner as they made their final trips.
They announced earlier this month that they would be shutting down operations in the country.
KZN spokesperson for the South African National Taxi Council, Sifiso Shangase said the industry is ready to fill the void.

"You find the minibus taxi can cope to three or four times to go and come back but right now you find a taxi will go once a week. And the driver will need to be paid, he needs to pay instalments, you need to service as well.
"Your family as well is also relying on this. We also have kids that go to school. But we also hope that there will be some commuters that will be moved to us," he said.
