President Cyril Ramaphosa has sent his condolences to the Royal Family and Zulu nation at the unexpected passing of Her Majesty Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, Regent of the Zulu Nation.
The regent Queen and great wife of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini died on Thursday.
Her passing comes a month after the AmaZulu nation planted its King.
She took the throne a little over a month ago as the nation waits for the late monarch King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekulu’s successor to be chosen.
“Personally and on behalf of government and all South Africans, I offer my sincerest condolences to the Royal Family and the Zulu nation,” Ramaphosa said in a statement.
