One killed, 18 injured in N3 crash

A woman has been killed and over a dozen others injured in a crash on
the N3 near the Hammarsdale offramp.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says two trucks and a taxi are involved.
“ A total of 18 people have been stabilised on the scene with injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
They were transported to various Durban and Pietermaritzburg hospitals for the further treatment that they required.

“The national route was closed for approximately one and a half hours while emergency personnel worked to clear the scene," says Jamieson.
“At this stage the events leading up to the accident are unknown however SAPS and RTI (Road Traffic Inspectorate) were on the scene and will be investigating further.”
