Duma: KZN residents need to see change

KZN's Economic Development and Tourism MEC Siboniso Duma has
admitted the department has not been performing well.
He was speaking during an economic development portfolio committee meeting at the KZN legislature on Friday.
Issues discussed during the sitting include unemployment, reviving the township economy and various problems faced due to dilapidating tourist attraction sites.
Duma said KZN residents really need to see change.

"If there are still complaints that in our township and rural areas, where we have a lot of foreigners, Ethiopians and Somalians that have taken over the spaza shops or it means that we still have to do more to take our spazas back where it belongs; with our people.
"Some of the things include the issue of building malls. Malls are key in strategy, but it must not deprive our people from trading. There is no time for lamentation, we must act."
