DA calls on Health to investigate Pinetown mortuary
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
The DA in KwaZulu-Natal has called on health officials to investigate why 50 bodies have been left unattended at the Pinetown mortuary for almost six months.

The party's spokesperson for health, Imraan Keeka believes the backlog has been caused by the absence of the resident pathologist.
Keeka says MEC for Health, Sibongiseni Dhlomo needs to address the issue as a matter of urgency.
"No postmortem was done on these bodies. Staff from other facilities have been brought in to address the backlog. We will be sending questions to the MEC to seek clarity as to why these bodies have piled up and why they have not been buried as yet," he said.
KZN Health says it is investigating the matter.
