Coronavirus: Two positive cases linked to deceased teacher

Two people who've been linked to an Isipingo teacher who died of the coronavirus yesterday have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Department of Basic Education says the 45-year-old educator at Platt Drive Primary School passed away after testing positive several days ago.
It says one of her colleagues has contracted the disease.
A 14-year-old child from Umlazi who is said to be a relative of one of the teachers is also infected.

The Education Department's Elijah Mhlanga says officials are now tracing all of their contacts.
He says the late teacher's family will receive the necessary help.
The minister has conveyed her condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the teacher who died as a result of the Covid19 virus.
The minister has communicated with the MEC of KZN to see what can be done to support the family.
