'Assassination' plot case postponed

The case involving 33-year-old Elvis Ramosebudi, who is accused of planning to assassinate prominent South Africans, has been postponed to May 2.

The unemployed Romsebudi is alleged to have plotted to assassinate 19 prominent South Africans and Cabinet members whom he believed benefited from state capture.
The Hawks arrested him on Wednesday after an investigation dating back to 2010.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) requested that Ramosebudi be taken for mental observation and for the court to allow them to conduct further investigations.
NPA Gauteng spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane told journalist outside the court that it is in the best interest of the accused for the case to be postponed, to give him time acquire legal representation.
Ramosebudi also indicated he would be applying for bail on Tuesday.
