"This is my story told by me" - Janet Jackson is giving her fans an inside look at her life and career in her new self-titled documentary.
Janet Jackson is celebrating the 40th anniversary of her debut album in a special way. The 55-year-old has produced a two-part documentary about her life and career.
The biographical documentary, 'Janet', is set to premiere on Lifetime in January 2022. The Grammy Award winner will be celebrating a huge milestone next year.
Her first studio album was released in 1982 and 2022 marks 40 years since its release. Janet was 16 years old when the album hit shelves.
"This is my story told by me, not through someone else’s eyes,” she says in the documentary's teaser.

Stars such as Mariah Carey, Paula Abdul, and Missy Elliot appear in the documentary - which has been five years in the making.
“She’s an empowered woman,” Mariah says. “She is a force to be reckoned with,” Paula adds.
Janet shared the teaser on her Instagram page.
"Hey u guys. Excited to share the first teaser of my new documentary with u," she wrote.
