Vogue sues Drake and 21 Savage over fake magazine cover

The rappers are facing a $4-million (R71-million) lawsuit over their "counterfeit" Vogue magazine cover.
Drake and 21 Savage's new album, 'Her Loss', continues to dominate music headlines. This time the rappers are in the news for using a fake Vogue magazine cover to promote their new project.
The magazine's publisher, Condé Nast, is suing the 'Jimmy Cooks' hitmakers for $4-million (R71-million). Lawyers for the publisher slammed the rapper's “deceptive campaign”.
Shortly before dropping their joint studio album, Drake and 21 Savage took part in several promotional stunts. One of the promos involved the rappers posing on what appeared to be a legitimate Vogue cover.
"Me and my brother on newsstands tomorrow!! Thanks @voguemagazine and Anna Wintour for the love and support," Drake captioned a picture of the cover on Instagram.
The post has since been removed, but many thought the rappers would appear in a Vogue spread on their album's release date.

Condé Nast's lawyers filed a complaint this week against the rappers.
“Vogue magazine and its Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour have had no involvement in 'Her Loss' or its promotion, and have not endorsed it in any way. Nor did Condé Nast authorize, much less support, the creation and widespread dissemination of a counterfeit issue of Vogue, or a counterfeit version of perhaps one of the most carefully curated covers in all of the publication business," the publisher said, according to Radar.
The publisher is now seeking $4-million in damages for the "flagrant infringement" of its trademark. With a reported net worth of more than $250-million, Drake can surely afford to pay for his little oopsie...
Drake and 21 Savage's new album has been causing a lot of controversy. Lyrics in some of the songs take a swipe at several high-profile stars.

The 36-year-old also faced the ire of rapper Megan Thee Stallion. He seemingly made a reference to a shooting involving Meg and Tory Lanez.
She accused Tory of shooting her in the foot in July 2020. He is facing a felony assault charge. Megan's haters have accused her of lying about the incident.
The 'Circo Loco' lyrics read:
This b***h lie ‘bout getting shot
But she still a stallion
She don’t even get the joke
But she still smiling.”
Megan slammed Drake for using her shooting for clout. But Drakes's fans came to his defence saying the double entendre is about women who get Brazilian butt lift (BBL) shots/injections.
