South African comedian Trevor Noah has accused an American hospital and surgeon of malpractice.
Trevor Noah is moving full steam ahead with a lawsuit against orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Riley J. Williams.
'The Daily Show' host is also suing the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan following his alleged botched surgery.
According to TMZ, Trevor states in his lawsuit that the surgeon and the hospital were "careless in failing to treat and care for [him] in a careful and skillful manner".
Trevor does not mention what surgery he underwent in the lawsuit. However, Dr Williams specialises in knee, shoulder, and elbow surgery, according to his website.
Trevor revealed that the surgery took place in November 2020.
The comedian was Dr. Williams' patient from August to December 2020. Trevor also slammed the aftercare he received following his surgery.
The 37-year-old says in his suit that the defendants failed to "prescribe proper medications" and did not "discontinue certain prescription medications".
The suit also states that the defendants failed to "use proper tests and examinations in order to diagnose the conditions" he was suffering with.
Trevor allegedly suffered "serious personal injury" as a result of the surgery which lead to "permanent, severe and grievous" damage.
The hospital has called Trevor's claims "meritless".
