Simphiwe 'Simz' Ngema: 'Dear new mum, take your time with your body'

Simphiwe has an important PSA for moms who are stressing about their postpartum weight loss.
Two years after giving birth to her son, Simphiwe 'Simz' Ngema says she is still working on her post-baby weight loss.
The actress and her then-partner, Tino Chinyani, welcomed their first child together, Tiyani Kemorena Michael Chiyani, in 2020.
She has spoken openly about the changes to her body after giving birth. This time she has a special message for new moms trying to lose the weight they gained during their pregnancy.
"Dear new mum, take your time with your body. You carried a whole human being. It’s okay to fall, as long as you don’t stay down," Simphiwe told her Instagram followers.

The 33-year-old urged women to love their bodies regardless of what stage of their postpartum weight loss journey they are on.
"A little commitment and discipline can take you far. Stop comparing yourself to other people, it’s been 2 years and I’m still working on my body. Stay in your lane and love the body you are in."

Simz admitted last year that losing weight after giving birth is the "hardest thing ever".
"I was hungry all the time after giving birth so I ate a lot. I was also tired most of the time so I’d try work out every now and then but definitely wasn’t consistent. I really struggled,” she revealed.
The 'Muvhango' star told her fans in a separate post that her normal weight is 75 kilograms but she weighed 94 kilograms after giving birth to her bundle of joy.
She has been slowly losing weight but refuses to give in to "snap back" pressure.
"I haven’t been binding my tummy because I had a c-section and I’ve gained 20kg but it’s time for me to start my journey of getting back into shape. I’m giving myself a year. Ang’funi pressure please!" she wrote.
