Selena Gomez addresses weight issues following Golden Globes appearance
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Selena Gomez took to Instagram Live to make statements which appear to be directed at her critics after she was body-shamed following her Golden Globes appearance.
Selena Gomez has become the latest celebrity to deal with body-shamers.
This comes after her recent appearance at the 2023 Golden Globes awards which took place in Los Angeles on January 10.
Selena walked down the red carpet wearing a beautiful strapless Valentino gown. She was nominated for best actress in a TV series, musical or comedy at the awards for the role of Mabel Mora in 'Only Murders in the Building'.

Social media users criticised the actress for putting on weight, with some users even going as far as calling her "fat".
But the singer is not allowing the nasty comments to get her down.
She took to Instagram Live over the weekend and talked about her weight issues with her little sister, Gracie Elliott Teefey, 9.
The 'Calm Down' hitmaker said she gained weight due to the Festive Season.
“I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays, right” she said to her sister in the Instagram Live video.
But unlike social media users who are not pleased about her weight, the star added that she doesn't care.
“But we don’t care,” she said, before bursting into laughter.

This is not the first time Selena has dealt with body-shamers.
Last year, the actress said she doesn't care about her weight anymore because it is always being discussed by her followers.
"So I've been trying to stay skinny. But I went to Jack in the Box and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings and a spicy chicken sandwich.
"But honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people bi**h about it anyway. 'You’re too small', 'you’re too big', 'that doesn’t fit'. Meh meh meh meh. Bitch," she said.
Selena said she is okay with how she looks.
"I am perfect the way I am," she said.
This is not the first time Selena has tried to silence the critics.
Last week she took to Twitter to share that she loves her body.
