The DJ says his heart goes out to those who have been publicly
humiliated for making bad financial decisions.
Prince Kaybee is sharing his views on financial health in the music industry following recent reports of banks repossessing or attempting to repossess the belongings of some of South Africa’s top artists.
The ‘Gugulethu’ hitmaker shared his words of wisdom in a Twitter thread he shared on Monday.
“I’ve spent the last couple of days thinking about the recent moments in the media about artist belongings being repossessed. Some of these people are problem solvers, solution driven and a reflection of hope to their families,” Prince Kaybee tweeted.

While the DJ and producer did not mention any names, several artists have made headlines in recent months due to their financial problems.
Zahara almost lost her R1.9-million Roodeport house after defaulting on her payments.
The bank was set to auction the home in May.
But things are looking up for the singer after she managed to secure funds to repay the bank with some help from her fans and a businessman.
Prince Kaybee says we have all made financial mistakes at some point.
The 33-year-old says financial health starts with having a clean brand.
“My brand is not clean but that’s where your financial health starts, having a clean brand so that no one can use anything against you even in the most crucial moments of success,” he wrote.

Prince Kaybee, whose real name is Kabelo Motsamai, added in a separate tweet: “Secondly money is there to be SAVED and My heart goes out to everyone that have been publicly humiliated for making bad financial decisions. May y’all pick yourselves up and carry on to be winners in your respective fields.”

While many people agreed that the public humiliation was unnecessary, some said the flashy lifestyles of celebrities is what leads to financial problems.
“Luxurious cars, rented house, expensive clothing, phones, flashy lifestyle in clubs, unnecessary vacations is the downfall. Financial literacy isn't stressed enough in this field,” one Twitter user commented.
Another user added: “Y’all need to stop competing for no reason and treat your talents as a business. How do people brag about expensive clothes and drinking the most expensive alcohol?”
