Updated | By Entertainment Reporter
Welcome back, Dr Jackson Avery - albeit for a short period of time.
Jesse Williams will be returning to the 'Grey's Anatomy' set for a special guest appearance on November 3. The 41-year-old left the show in 2021 after 11 years as Dr Jackson Avery.
"I will forever be grateful for the boundless lessons and opportunities provided me by Shonda, the network, studio, our incredible crew...The experience and endurance born of creating nearly 300 hours of leading global television is a gift I’ll carry always," he said at the time.
Jesse will be back on our screens for the fifth episode of season 19. He will also direct the episode which is titled, 'When I Get to the Border'.
According to Deadline, Jesse's character will catch up with Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) in the episode during a trip to Boston.
Grey’s Anatomy showrunners have promised more surprises for season 19, with many fan favourites expected to return.

Jesse has been making a name for himself on the Broadway stage since his departure from 'Grey's Anatomy'. The actor received his first Tony nomination earlier this year for his stage debut in 'Take Me Out'.
He plays a bi-racial baseball player in the play.
"It's thrilling. I mean, this is really absolutely an incredible experience. There is so much love and hard work and commitment. I am just overwhelmed with the level of warmth and the welcome from the Broadway community to our play and certainly me as a newcomer. My cup runneth over," he told Entertainment Tonight about his Tony nomination.
