"The last two weeks have been surreal."
AKA's mother Lynn Forbes says her heart is shattered into millions of pieces following his murder. She took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking picture taken on the day of his funeral.
The picture shows Lynn standing next to the rapper's open casket.
"The last two weeks have been surreal, more specifically the mornings. Waking up every morning, being reminded that this nightmare will never end, is the most excruciating pain I have ever felt. My heart is shattered into millions of pieces I love you, Kiernan," she wrote.
AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, was shot and killed in Durban earlier this month. He was laid to rest on Saturday, 18 February.

MORE FROM EAST COAST RADIO:
A few weeks before his tragic death, AKA celebrated his 35th birthday. His mother was one of the first people to wish him.
"I’ve been reflecting on motherhood and how it changed my life and this quote sums it up best … The day you become a mother is the day you start watching your heart walk around outside of your body. Here’s to 35 years of motherhood and counting … Celebrating every precious moment of your life Kiernan," she wrote.
Lynn, who has another son named Steffan, had a great relationship with AKA. So much so that she welcomed all his friends and girlfriends into her home.
She remains close with the 'Fela In Versace' rapper's ex-girlfriend, DJ Zinhle - who is also the mother of his daughter Kairo Forbes.
She described both Zinhle and AKA's girlfriend, Nadia Nakai, as well as Steffan's partner, Brittany Smith, as her daughters during his memorial last week.
"Forever, both of you, you are always welcome. You will always be my daughters. I don’t care what anyone says on social media about you, they don’t matter. The Megacy matters," she said.
Lynn has also welcomed Zinhle's husband, Bongani 'Mörda' Mahosana, with open arms and tagged him in a special post dedicated to their blended family in 2022.
