Listen: Taylor Swift releases re-recorded version of 'Love Story'
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Taylor Swift has released the first single off her upcoming re-recorded 'Fearless' album. Dare we say it is even better than the original?!
"This is a stronger Juliet, coming from the future and smiling at the past."
That's how one Taylor Swift fan described the updated version of her hit song, 'Love Story'.
The 31-year-old dropped the lyric video for the track on YouTube at midnight on Friday. The video already has more than two-million views.
Taylor is re-recording all the songs on her 2008 'Fearless' album following a bitter battle over the rights to her music.
She is re-recording all the songs from her first six albums in a bid to own all her old music.
Record executive Scooter Braun bought the master rights to the albums back in 2019. He has since sold the masters to an investment fund. The deal was worth a reported $300-million.
Taylor has tried several times over the years to buy her own masters with little success, so she decided to take matters into her own hands.
Her upcoming re-recorded 'Fearless' album will include updated versions of all 20 songs on the original and six unreleased songs.
Judging by the lyric video Taylor just dropped for 'Love Story', her fans are in for a big treat!
