Lira shares biggest lesson she has learned after health scare

Don't forget to smell the roses! Lira is savouring each moment after her stroke.
Five months after suffering a stroke, Lira says she is grateful for the gift of life.
The 43-year-old has remained positive throughout her ordeal despite losing her voice. Lira was admitted to the hospital in April.
"Lira recently travelled to Germany for a performance but unfortunately suffered a stroke whilst there. As a result, her ability to communicate, in particular, her speech, has been impacted," her team said in a statement at the time.
The singer can now talk, read, and write and is hoping to make a full recovery soon. She took to Instagram on Monday to share the lesson she learned following her health scare.
"5 months and still alive and kicking. I’m grateful for the gift of LIFE. I’m making incredible progress and enjoying the much-needed break. One lesson I’ve learned is to slow down, smell the roses and savour each moment," she captioned a video of herself enjoying a sunset.
It's unclear if the video, which featured Miley Cyrus' 'Adore You', was recorded before or after her stroke.

Earlier this month, Lira celebrated the three-year anniversary of the launch of her own Barbie doll.
"3 years ago… Today! 8 Aug 2019," she wrote on Instagram.
The 'Feel Good' singer became the first African woman to have a Barbie doll made in her likeness.
Nicknamed the 'Lira Doll', the singer's doll was part of Barbie's 60th-anniversary celebrations.
"I’m deeply honoured to be Barbie’s first African role model and am excited to align with [a] brand that is on a mission to show girls more diverse role models. I have always been someone who endeavours the celebration of my skin tone and natural hair, and it is amazing to see this reflected in my doll which I hope will inspire girls across the African continent," Lira said at the time.
Lira's fans are looking forward to seeing what she gets up to next. Hopefully she will be back in action onstage in the near future.
