Linda Mtoba reveals why she keeps her husband out of the spotlight
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
"I value the sanctity of our life together and I want to protect that.”
Linda Mtoba is giving her fans a rare look into her life as a mother and wife. The former 'Isibaya' actress is Nounouche's latest cover star.
Linda talks candidly about her childhood and how her upbringing influenced the decision she made when starting a family of her own.
Linda married her husband Steven Meyer in 2017 after six years of dating. Their traditional wedding was held in KwaZulu-Natal.
The couple welcomed their daughter, whom she calls 'Bean', in 2019. While Linda has shared a few pictures of her husband's face in the past, she rarely posts images of him on her social media platforms. They also don't walk red carpets together.
"My husband didn’t choose a life of fame and it is my job to shield him from that. I am unapologetically selfish when it comes to my husband and I value the sanctity of our life together and I want to protect that," she told the publication.

Linda says her husband supports everything she does and allows her to pursue her dreams "without any reservations".
"My husband is my north star... He is very proud of me and everything I have accomplished," she said. "I know that no matter what, he will love me and I will love him just as much. We love each other beyond the superficial.”

Linda told Nounouche that while her mother did an amazing job raising her and her siblings as a single parent, she wanted her future children to grow up with both parents in the home.
The 31-year-old says she knew she wanted to get married before she started her family.
"My mother was very honest with me about some of the challenges she faced being a single mother and I knew I wanted better for myself. Growing up, I longed for my father and I knew then that I wanted my child to grow up in a two-parent household and God has been good in making that a reality for me," she said.

Linda credited her stepfather with showing her what the love of a father and partner looks like.
"He was always there for me and we still have a great relationship. We would go jogging together, he would bring me lunch at work and we would go shopping together. It’s the love and time he had, never about how much money he had. He always came home carrying something and was very affectionate with my mother. I knew I wanted that kind of relationship," she said.
