Kourtney Kardashian explains why she doesn't live with her husband

Kourtney and Travis have an interesting arrangement for their blended family.
Should married people live together? Kourtney Kardashian has people talking after revealing that she still lives apart from her husband after more than four months of marriage.
Kourtney and Travis Barker tied the knot in a lavish Italian wedding in May, but the reality star admits that they still live in two separate houses.
The reason, the 43-year-old says, is because they want their kids to adjust to their new blended family. Kourtney has three children - Mason, Penelope, and Reign - with her ex, Scott Disick. Travis also has three children - Landon and Alabama Barker as well as stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya.
Speaking on Dear Media's 'Not Skinny But Not fat' podcast, Kourtney says despite living apart they still spend a lot of time as a family.
"I think we're in the place where we're figuring out how to blend our households and our kids. What does life look like now? So, for the most part...we're getting those things in place. We do family dinner every Sunday night with all the kids at his house," she said.
Kourtney says they do intend to live together eventually but the arrangement currently works for them. Travis and his children live one block away from her house.
"We want our kids to also feel really comfortable and they have both lived in their homes their whole lives, for the most part, and they each have their rooms," she said.

As weird as the arrangement might seem to some, living apart from your spouse for short periods of time can actually be healthy for your marriage.
"If me and my husband could afford two houses on the same street we'd probably do the same thing! They're practically neighbours and it means they can have space and time with other children too. Why do we push one idea of how a relationship is supposed to look? I'm sure people are just jealous," one Facebook user wrote.
Another user added: "I think it’s amazing. If you can afford this lifestyle why not? His kids are big and it’s more comfortable for everyone. You can see each other all you want."
Kourtney is not the only celebrity who is 'Team Couples Living Apart'. Gwyneth Paltrow - who has two children with Coldplay's Chris Martin - did not immediately move in with her husband, Brad Falchuk, when they got married in 2018.
She said they were taking their time because they want to be respectful of their kids.
"I’ve never been a stepmother before. I don’t know how to do it. We’re still doing it in our own way. With teenage kids, you’ve got to tread lightly. It’s pretty intense, the teenage thing," she told The Wall Street Journal.
South African comedian, Trevor Noah, shared his views on the topic in a 2019 interview with Howard Stern.
"I’m a big advocate for not living together ever, even if you’re married. I think one of the biggest reasons people get divorced and relationships break up is because of this cohabiting bulls**t that we’ve come to believe is the way relationships are supposed to be," he said.
