Kim Kardashian admits she lost 7kg to fit into Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress

Kim Kardashian is taking the term suffering for beauty to another level.
The Met Gala is the highlight of the fashion calendar and the 2022 event attracted some of the biggest stars in entertainment, including Kim Kardashian.
The beauty mogul wore Marilyn Monroe's 'Happy Birthday, Mr President' dress on the red carpet. The late actress wore the iconic dress while serenading President John F. Kennedy in 1962.
The dress, which was sold for nearly $5-million (R80-million) in 2016, came with security guards! Everyone who touched the dress had to wear gloves.
There was only one problem when Kim went for her fitting - the dress did not fit. But that didn't stop Kim! 'The Kardashians' star says she was willing to lose a lot of weight to fit into the Jean-Louis dress.
"I had this idea to put it on and try it on and then they came with arm guards and gloves. I tried it on and it didn't fit me. And so, I looked at them and I said, 'give me like three weeks and I had to lose 16 pounds down today to be able to fit this," she told Vogue magazine on the red carpet.
Kim revealed on her Instagram Stories that she avoided carbs and sugar. But she had pizza and donuts waiting for her after the Met Gala.

According to People, Kim, who attended the Met Gala with her boyfriend Pete Davidson, only wore Marilyn's dress up the Met Gala stairs. She then changed into a replica for the rest of the evening.
Kim says she was honoured to wear the dress.
"It is a stunning skintight gown adorned with more than 6,000 hand-sewn crystals by costumier Jean Louis.Thank you Ripley’s Believe It or Not! for giving me the opportunity to debut this evocative piece of fashion history for the first time since the late Marilyn Monroe wore it. I am forever grateful for this moment," the 41-year-old wrote on Instagram.
