Kelly Khumalo’s tearful video “sermon” receives mixed reviews

Kelly Khumalo’s message of hope amid the deadly coronavirus pandemic has received mixed reactions on social media.
The singer took to Instagram on Tuesday to share an emotional video about why South Africans needed to unite in prayer.
“Miracles happen. God moves and US praying together will move God. #I’mReadyForAMiracle,” she wrote in the caption.
Kelly told her followers that she had an important message to share.
“I have been asked to ask you, all of you, I don’t care which part of the world you’re at; I’ve been summoned to ask you guys to get on your knees and tell God what you want out of this situation. I haven’t stopped crying and I’m just asking all of you to get on your knees right now and tell God what you want out of this situation."

Many of Kelly’s Instagram followers said they were touched by her message, with some revealing it brought them to tears.
“Who's cutting onions in here. My Queen is crying and now I'm in tears,” one fan wrote.
Model Refilwe Modiselle said she related to Kelly’s emotional plea.
“Me this morning at 4am.... I cried & cried to God. Spoke my heart out. Even told him what I won't tolerate anymore,” she commented.

However, Twitter users were less than impressed with Kelly's post.
Some tweeps claimed the Uthando hitmaker appeared drunk in the video, while others said they were spooked by her “sermon”.

user wrote.

Some Twitter users told Kelly that she should confess her sins before asking people to unite in prayer.
They were referring to the murder of soccer star Senzo Meyiwa. Many people still believe that the singer knows more than what she told police about the day the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper was shot dead at her family home in 2014.
Kelly has vehemently denied any suggestions that she was involved in her then lover's murder and maintains he was killed in a botched house robbery.

Kelly's fans came to her defence, urging internet trolls to stop bullying her.
"@kellykhumaloZA, everytime I see your name I get worked up because I know that you are attacked. But do not worry God has already declared victory over the situation. Continue being strong unfortunately for you our people may love you when you no more," one wrote.
