Justin Bieber sent cease-and-desist over new album cover art

Justin Bieber should be celebrating the release of his highly anticipated album, 'Justice', but instead he will be fending off a lawsuit. 

The 27-year-old dropped the album at midnight on Friday. 

'Justice' is Justin's sixth studio album. He revealed that he will be using the album to support several organisations.  

"In honor of #Justice I’m supporting organizations that embody what justice looks like in action."

Justin's album release was dampened by news that French dance duo Justice is suing him for allegedly using their trademark "cross" design in his cover art. 

The group's co-manager, Tyler Goldberg, says a cease-and-desist letter has been sent to Justin. 

"The morning Bieber announced his album, it was pretty tough to miss. Aside from seeing it all over the internet ourselves, we heard from hundreds of people throughout the day — industry people, Justice fans — and the Justice guys received a ton of messages, not only compelled to point out the similarities between the Justice Justin Bieber album, but confused. ‘Is this a Justice collaboration?'," Goldberg told Rolling Stone magazine.

But some people think the French duo is reaching as the designs are very different. 

Some social media users disagreed. 

"The cross in the T of justice is their iconic logo, also why would Justin’s team message justices team for their graphic designer," a Twitter user wrote.

Justin released the video for his new single, 'Peaches', at the same time he dropped his new album.
