Jennifer Aniston's dad who played Victor Kiriakis on 'Days of Our Lives' dies

Jennifer Aniston is mourning the death of her father, John Aniston. The 89-year-old actor is known for his role as Victor Kiriakis on 'Days of Our Lives'.

Many people had no idea that the famous actors were related, but Jennifer has spoken about her father many times in the past. The father and daughter have also walked a few red carpets together over the years.

Jennifer announced her father's death in an emotional Instagram post.  

"Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston. You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace - and without pain," the 'Friends' star wrote. 

The 53-year-old added that her dad died on Monday. 

"And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time. Don’t forget to visit."

John's character on 'Days Of Our Lives' was loved by many soapie fans. Victor Kiriakis and Stefano DiMera's feud had many people - including teenagers - rushing home to watch the latest drama.  

Joseph Mascolo died in 2016 at the age of 87 following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He also played Massimo Marone on 'The Bold And The Beautiful'.

The official 'Days Of Our Lives' Instagram page paid tribute to John. "Our hearts are broken over the loss of our beloved family member John Aniston. We love you John. Your legend will live on," the post read.

Scores of people took to Twitter to pay tribute to the soapie legend. 

"RIP Victor Kiriakis. Legend. The only man Stefano DiMera feared," one Twitter user wrote. 

Another user added: "As a young tween, John Aniston won me over with his good looks, evil plots and that deep voice, this is way before anyone knew him as Jennifer’s dad. Days of Our Lives was my after school run-home-for program. I am glad i got to watch the glory days of Victor Kiriakis. RIP.
