"We have realized we are better as friends." JLO and A-Rod's fairy tale romance has officially come to an end.
Jennifer Lopez and her fiancé Alex Rodriguez have announced the end of their relationship.
"We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects," they said in a statement.
J.LO and A-Rod have been dating since 2017. They got engaged two years later. Alex popped the question with a huge diamond ring reportedly worth R14-million.
The former lovers planned to tie the knot in 2020 but COVID-19 put the brakes on their plans.
Jennifer Lopez, who is mom to twins Max and Emme, was very close with Alex's children. She often shared pictures of the blended family enjoying time together.
J.LO and A-Rod say they will not be commenting further out of respect for their children.
"We wish the best for each other and one another's children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."
Their announcement comes one month after the couple denied breakup rumours.
But the couple quashed the rumours.
"All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things," the couple told TMZ in March.
A few weeks before the rumours, Alex was accused of getting cosy with reality star, Madison LeCroy.
Madison denied they met in person, but admitted they communicated over the phone.
“He’s never physically cheated on his fiancée with me,” she told Page Six.
Jennifer last shared a picture of Alex on her Instagram in February.
