Halle Berry and Taraji P. Henson not attending SA conference
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Halle Berry is the latest celebrity to deny she is attending #WimCon2018.
The International Women in Media conference, which is set to take place in Sandton next month, has been hit with more bad news.
Actress Halle Berry has denied that she will be attending #WimCon2018 - just days after Taraji P. Henson slammed event organisers.
Like Taraji, Halle says she has never heard of the event.
"To clear the air... I will NOT be attending #WimCon2018. I apologize to any of my fans who were mislead (sic). I know NOTHING about this, I have never heard of it. It’s shameful that @21stcg_Global would advertise this way. Thank you @TherealTaraji for letting people know," Halle tweeted.

Bonang Matheba was also set to attend the conference as MC for the event. She shared a tweet announcing her involvement but deleted all social media posts related to the conference after Taraji took to Twitter to rubbish the "false" advertising.
"False! I will not be there. NEVER HEARD OF THIS EVENT AND WAS NEVER INVITED. PLEASE REMOVE MY NAME FROM THIS EVENT BECAUSE IT IS FALSE.," she tweeted.

Shortly after Taraji's tweets made headlines, Bonang announced that she will no longer be MCing at the conference.

Organisers have responded to the claims they falsely advertised that the high-profile guests would be attending.
21st Media Group says it signed a contract with Taraji's agents, Superstar Agency. The company added that it paid a deposit to secure the 'Empire' star for the event and received written confirmation of her attendance.
It revealed on Friday that it will also be taking legal action against Superstar Agency and 42 West, which also helped facilitate the deal.

Local stars such as Nomzamo Mbatha, Amanda du-Pont, Connie Ferguson, and Salamina Mosese are expected to attend.
