Gloria Estefan reacts to J.Lo's remarks about Super Bowl performance with Shakira

"Imagine what J.Lo would have said if I was the third [performer]!" - Gloria Estefan jokes about Jennifer Lopez and Shakira's Super Bowl performance.
Music icon Gloria Estefan has revealed that she declined an invite to perform with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira at the Super Bowl LIVE halftime show.
The 'Conga' hitmaker made the comments while reacting to recent remarks J.Lo made about sharing the stage with Shakira during the 2020 performance in Miami.
"If it was gonna be a double headliner, they should've given us 20 f***ing minutes... It's the worst idea in the world to have two people do the Super Bowl," Jennifer said in her new Netflix documentary, 'Halftime'.
Despite the behind-the-scenes drama, Gloria says their performance was amazing. "They killed it," she told Andy Cohen on 'Watch What Happens Live'.
The 64-year-old says she understood J.Lo's frustrations about the time limit.
"Look, this is the bottom line. You have very little time, like 12 minutes or something, to get things on and off the set. So, could you do it with one person? Yes, but I think they wanted to throw a Miami and Latin extravaganza and they tried to pack it as much as possible."
Gloria jokes that there would have been more drama if she was added as the third performer.
"Imagine what J.Lo would have said if I was the third [performer]! I literally would come out, done ‘Shake Your Body’ [and ‘Conga’] and out. It was their moment. Plus, I didn’t want to go on a diet in December. It's Christmas."
