'Get your f***ing a** up and work' - Kim Kardashian's "tone deaf" advice slammed

"It seems like nobody wants to work these days"! Kim K's advice to women in business has been met with a lot of side-eye.

With a net worth of $1-billion, Kim Kardashian is one of the richest women in the world.

Who better to give business advice to the masses than the woman who turns everything she touches into gold, right? Well, the beauty mogul is finally sharing her secret to success.

The 41-year-old and her sisters, Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, are Variety magazine's latest cover stars. Their "momager" Kris Jenner joins them on the cover, which promotes their new Hulu reality show, 'The Kardashians'.

The siblings revealed that success does not come easy in a behind-the-scenes video recorded during the photoshoot.

“I have the best advice for women in business. Get your f***ing a** up and work.” It seems like nobody wants to work these days," Kim said.

She added: "Have a good work environment where everyone loves what they do because you have one life. No toxic work environments and show up and do the work.”

Kim has several businesses under her belt including Skims and KKW Beauty. In 2020, the reality star revealed that she makes more money on Instagram than she does on reality TV.

“We would not be who we are today without Keeping Up With the Kardashians and that’s why we continue to share our lives. Even if, realistically, we can post something on social media and make more than we do a whole season," she said during an interview on 'My Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman'.

TMZ revealed in 2019 that Kim - who has 291-million followers on Instagram - makes up to $1-million (R15-million) for sharing a single sponsored post.

Basically, she can wake up, take a selfie to promote a product on social media, make a million bucks, and go back to bed if she wants to.

So it comes as no surprise that not everyone is feeling Kim's advice. Many felt the advice was a case of the "right message, wrong messenger".

"I respect what they are saying about hard work and having a passion for business, (because everyone is entitled to their own opinion) I just wish they would acknowledge that their platform, societal advantages and background gave them a step up that others don’t have," a Twitter user wrote.

Some accused the mom-of-four of being "tone deaf".

"MAN SHUT UPPPPP, Kim Kardashian is so f***ing TONE DEAF. Your entire life & career stem from a place of privilege, you do not know what it is like for an average middle/lower class person, you cannot comment," another tweep commented

Many also pointed out that Kim has more help than most people as she has several nannies for her kids - North, Saint, Psalm, and Chicago West.

"Kim talking about “working hard” when she has 1000s of people doing all the work/hard part for her. If we all had nannies, cooks, cleaners, assistants, business consultants ect ect ect and the money and platform she has it would be so easy. She just turns up for her promo photo shoots. I doubt she sources out the factories, materials, margins ect. She just picks colours and styles she’s likes," one Instagram user commented under Variety's post.

Enter Jessica DeFino. The Twitter user says she worked on the Kardashian app several years ago and did not have the best experience despite working non-stop.

"I was an editor on the Kardashian apps in 2015 in LA, worked days nights & weekends, could only afford groceries from the 99 Cents Only Store, called out 'sick' more than once bc I couldn’t put gas in my car to get to the office, & was reprimanded for freelancing on the side," she tweeted.

Jessica says she "saw firsthand how the most famous women in the world Frankensteined an impossible standard of beauty."

She says they then "pushed the rest of us to 'keep up' with them."

Another Twitter user also shared an unpaid intern position Kris Jenner's company allegedly advertised.
