'Game of Thrones' prequel 'House of the Dragon' comes to life in new trailer

Another war is brewing in Westeros... hundreds of years before the dramatic scenes of 'Game of Thrones' played out.
The wait is almost over for 'Game of Thrones' fans eager to learn more about how the House Targaryen's downfall began.
The GoT prequel, 'House of the Dragon', will feature more dragons and more family drama as the battle for the 'Iron Throne' takes centre stage.
Based on George R. R. Martin's book, 'Fire & Blood', the series will be 10 episodes long.
HBO Max released its longest trailer to date for the series, which is set to premiere on Sunday, August 21.
"I’ve seen a rough cut of the first episode. And loved it. It’s dark, it’s powerful, it’s visceral… just the way I like my epic fantasy," George wrote on his blog in December last year.

George also praised showrunners Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik.
"Ryan and Miguel have done an amazing job, and the cast… just as with GAME OF THRONES, most viewers will only have heard of a few of the actors, but I think you are going to fall in love with a lot of them. (Only to have your heart broken later when… but no, that would be telling).
"I think the Targaryens are in very good hands. Anticipate away. I do not think you will be disappointed," the author wrote.
The 'House of the Dragon' cast includes English actress Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, and Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen.
