What’s the story?
As Empire Magazine asked when Season 1 aired, “When was the last time a TV show or movie, really pissed you off? Proper lying in bed enraged, turning over events in your mind. How could they do it?” And that’s pretty much been the story since. Not that that’s a bad thing. It truly is a series (based on the books of course) that has no issue killing off main characters leaving the viewer in total shock. Quite simply, this has to be the most exciting TV produced in years, an adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s addictive fantasy books.
A tapestry of family grievances sprawl across battleground named Westeros. At heart, it’s the Starks (honourable, naive) versus the Lannisters (ambitious, depraved). The third season primarily centers on the Lannisters in King's Landing. After defeating Stannis Baratheon at the Battle of the Blackwater, they hold a firm grasp on the Iron Throne. They are threatened by their new ally House Tyrell, powerful and manipulative players of the game.
Tyrion Lannister struggles with losing the power he had as Hand of the King, and feels his father doesn't appreciate the service he provided the family as hand. Meanwhile, Jaime Lannister continues his attempt to return home, and begins to form a bond with his road companion, Brienne of Tarth. And Daenerys Targaryen is at last reunited with her three fast-maturing dragons. And that’s just what happens to some of the cast. Saying anything more might reveal too much and spoil the experience, but suffice to say that in Season 3, the battling families clash as bonds are strained, loyalties are tested and cruel fates are met.

The cast returns. Well those that have not been killed off in Season 2 of course. Peter Dinklage is Tyrion, Maisie Williams is Arya, Lena Heady is Cersei, Emelia Clarke is Daenerys, Jack Gleeson is Joffrey and Kit Harrington is Jon Snow to name a few.
