Jamie-Lee Domburg is celebrating a huge milestone in her life. The 29-year-old became a homeowner for the first time and the achievement has an emotional backstory.

Jamie-Lee's single mother, Patricia, sacrificed a lot to help her get where she is today. The ‘Expresso Morning Breakfast’ presenter revealed in an Instagram post that her mother sold her home many years ago to help her pursue her studies.

"When I was 18 years old I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life , so I went to Dubai for a gap year and when I started training in the corporate space, I quit immediately and came home to study Speech and drama to break in to the entertainment space," Jamie-Lee wrote.

She says her mother invested in her studies in a big way.

"My mom had then sold our family home with her sister, paid off her debt, and used the change to put me through college and we then started renting. It never felt like home since and one day she asked me to promise her that I’ll put her in a house."

Jamie made that dream a reality earlier this month when she moved into her new home with her mother and son, Luca.

"Officially bought my mom her first home all because she believed that one day I was going to be successful in this space. These past 3 months have probably been the most stressful time of my life but it’s finally over," she wrote.

The media personality says buying her first home was not a smooth process, but it was worth it.

"Also, let me not flex on here, most of the banks declined my home loan because of my profession and we are moving into this place with just the clothes and my air fryer that I won haha until I can afford to buy all the furniture and appliances but we are about to make our house a home. No rich family, no inheritance just pure Faith and undeserving Grace," she concluded.
