Elliot Page gets emotional during first TV interview as a trans man

"I wanted to share with people just how much it has changed my life," says Elliot Page about his decision to publicly speak about his surgery.
Elliot Page sat down for his first TV interview as a transgender man. The actor says he is finally comfortable in his own body.
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey on Apple TV+'s 'The Oprah Conversation', Elliot says he is speaking out about his top surgery because he wants people to know how much it changed his life.
"Knowing the pain and the difficulties and struggles I faced in my life, let alone what so many other people are facing, it absolutely felt crucial and important for me to share that," he said.
Elliot also slammed proposed laws in certain parts of America that aim to ban transgender youth from playing in sports that match their gender identity.
"If you are going to do this, and if you are also not going to allow trans kids to play sports, children will die. "And it really is that simple," PEOPLE quoted him as saying.
Elliot said he felt comfortable in his own body for the first time in his life.

Elliot added in another sneak peek.
"From where I’m sitting now, all I know is the degree of comfort, sense of home, ability to be present, feels so profound and life-changing. And so what I look forward to is getting to move through the world in that way.”
Elliot came out as transgender in December last year. 'The Umbrella Academy' star said he was happy to be sharing his authentic self.
"I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot, I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life, I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can't begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self."
