She was 17, he was 29! Demi Lovato sings about age and consent in her new song and her fans think she is calling out Wilmer Valderrama.
Demi Lovato just dropped the lyric video for her new song, '29', this week. The 29-year-old sings about a past relationship that started when she was a teenager.
Fans are convinced that the song is about Demi's ex-boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama. The pair met when Demi was 17 and started dating when she turned 18.
"When I first met Wilmer he was 29. I met him on January 11 of 2010, and it was at a PSA shoot at his house for the 2010 census forms. To be honest, I only did it because I heard it was at his house and I thought he was really cute... [when] I met him and I laid eyes on him for the first time, I was in hair and makeup and he came in and sat down and I was like 'I love this man' and 'I have to have him'," she said in her 2017 documentary, 'Simply Complicated'.

Demi added: "But I was only 17, so he was like, 'Get away from me.' After I turned 18, we began dating. I think it was love at first sight, and I don't really believe in that, but I believe that it happened."
The couple called it quits in 2016.
Demi says "'29' is a record about the wisdom that comes with age". She wrote the song after turning 29.
Here's a look at some of the song's lyrics:
Student and a teacher
Far from innocent
What the f**k's consent?
Numbers told you not to
But that didn't stop you.
"Finally 29 / Funny, just like you were you at the time
Thought it was a teenage dream / Just a fantasy
But was it yours or was it mine?
The song features on the setlist for her 'Holy Fvck Tour'.
