Congrats! Wayde van Niekerk and wife Chesney are expecting
"Blessings keep coming our way" - Wayde says he is "excited" to be a dad.
Congratulations are in order for Olympic champ Wayde van Niekerk. The athlete is expecting his first child with his wife, Chesney (nee Campbell).
He announced the news on his Instagram page.
"Crazy excited to announce we are having a baby!!! Blessings keep coming our way, stay tuned for the gender soon," Wayde wrote.
Chesney also shared the exciting news on her page.
"I’m so excited to announce that we’re having a BABY!! We are looking forward to this process and to have a healthy and blessed pregnancy. Soon the Vans will be joined by a little Super Van."

Wayde and Chesney tied the knot in October 2017. Chesney shared pictures from their big day on their one-year wedding anniversary.
"I’ve never been the girl who dreamt and planned her wedding since she was 10 years old & Wayde kinda just told me that I can do whatever I want to, as long as he can pick his own suit," she said.
Chesney described their wedding as the "biggest party ever".
The couple has a lot to celebrate these days. Wayde is heading to the Tokyo Games to defend his 400m Olympic title.
