Berry Trytsman wins 'Idols SA' season 17

South Africa has spoken! Berry was crowned the 'Idols SA' winner last night.
Congratulations are in order for Berenike 'Berry' Trytsman who won season 17 of the 'Idols SA' competition'.
The 30-year-old from Cape Town beat runner-up Karabo Mathe.
She walked away with R1-million, a recording deal from Kalawa Jazmee Records, and R85 000 worth of musical equipment from Yamaha. She also received a brand new Renault Kiger valued at over R269 000, a Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 on a Vodacom Red 100GB Plan, R100, 000 in Truworths fashion vouchers, a Bachelor of Business Administration bursary valued at over R260 000 from Regenesys Business School.

Berry, who was a contestant on season 6 in 2010, says she couldn't believe that she won.
"I feel absolutely amazing. I didn't think this would happen to me," she said in a video posted on 'Idols SA' Twitter page.
The star says she was blown away by the support from her fans.
"I'm absolutely blown away by the support from my berries and I'm so grateful for you and I love you so much," she added.

The 'Ungowami' singer has thanked her fans for helping her secure the win.
"My berries, you are the reason I am here. Thank you for pushing through the night. For getting friends, neighbours, random people in the streets to vote. You are the reason I'm here."
